The 48 Laws of Christian Power, a free guide for business owners

The 48 Laws of Christian Power. A free guide for owners who want to compete hard without trading their integrity for a sale. One law per page, a real situation from the shop or the job site, and the full Scripture behind it.
Most of the business world thinks power means getting on top: over your competitors, over your crew, over the customer across the table.
Jesus saw that and said no. Whoever wants to be great among you, He said, shall be your servant (Mark 10:43).
That doesn't make a Christian business soft. It makes you the one people trust, like the contractor who honors his quote after lumber goes up.
So we wrote down what that looks like, 48 times.
One law
per page.
- 48 laws, one per pageRead one a day, or pin up the one you need this week.

- Law 1
Keep your word, even when it costs you
You quoted the job, and then lumber went up. Honor the quote. Fix your quoting for next time, not on this customer's bill (Psalm 15:4).
- Law 7
Build your name, never tear down another man's
Protect your reputation by showing up and fixing your mistakes. Never plant doubt about a competitor to win a bid (Proverbs 22:1).
- Law 17
Find the fear so you can fix it
Every customer is afraid of something. Find it so you can solve it. Never press on it to close a sale (Galatians 6:2).
- Law 29
Outwork your competitor, and bless him anyway
Bid sharp and win the job. Don't try to put the other man out of business, and don't celebrate when he goes under (Romans 12:17).
- Law 48
Know whose you are, then pick up the towel
Charge a fair price without apology. Then do what Jesus did with that security: He got up and washed His followers' feet (John 13:3-5).

Shrewd as serpents.
Innocent as doves.
Jesus didn't send His people out naive. He told them to be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16).
You need both. The people across the table won't always play straight: the supplier who "forgets" a term, the competitor who starts a rumor, the client who plays two bids against each other.
These laws help you spot those plays and still win the work without running any of them. And they give your crew and your customers a standard they can hold you to.
- 1Integrity: Is it true?
- 2Compassion: Does it serve them too?
- 3Courage: Would I do it in the light?
- 4Humility: Does it need me to be above them?
Pass all four and it's yours to use. Fail one and leave it alone.
