I'm Jake McCluskey, founder of Before Kings Co. I got tired of watching people get taken advantage of, so I learned how to do something about it.
How it started
It started with websites. I learned to build them myself, and I've been at it for 25 years. Along the way the work grew into funnels, email marketing, social media growth, web apps and native apps.
The reason hasn't changed. The owner across the table deserves honest work and a straight answer about what he's paying for.
The Navy, and what came after
I served in the US Navy. I came home, and coming home was harder than going. Nobody warns you about that part.
For years I was strong in all the ways that don't count and hollow everywhere else. I went all the way to the bottom. I'm a suicide survivor, and I'm alive today because God reached me after I had already given up. What pulled me out wasn't willpower. It was Christ.
I wrote the whole story down in a book called From the Darkness. More of it is on my personal site.

Hope
Hope is my service dog. She's with me every day, and she helps me cope when life gets a bit crazy. She's my second best friend. My wife is my first.
Home
My wife puts up with me and my shenanigans. She stood with me in the darkness when walking away would have been easier, and I don't get to tell any of this without her.
We have two beautiful daughters. They teach me what it means to be loving and kind.
What I believe
- Jesus Christ is Lord. Crucified, risen, coming back.
- The Bible is true, and it's for men like us, not just for pastors and scholars.
- Prayer is not a last resort. It's the first move.
- No man is too far gone. Not you. Not anyone.
I'm training for ministry through the Timothy Pastoral Program, under my elders. If you want to know exactly where I stand, I wrote it all out plainly.
Our missionTo help Christian businesses spread the word of God.
The name points to Proverbs 22:29: “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings.” You're the man skilled in his work. Our job is to make sure the right people see it.
We keep a small roster on purpose. I talk to every client myself. I'll tell you what's costing you money, and I'll tell you when we're not the right fit.
